I don't really hate the man, as I believe he's mostly trying to do what he thinks is right. Still, I don't like a lot of the things he has done.
-He has expanded the role of the Federal government through his "compassionate conservatism."
-He has not reigned in non-defense domestic spending, and in fact has pushed for increased spending.
-He has resisted efforts to prohibit the immoral, unreliable use of torture on detainees.
-He has resisted following the proper procedures for trying detainees.
-He signed the McCain-Feingold bill, restricting the excercise of free speech and economic liberty in campaigns.
-He has started down the dangerous path of eroding civil liberties through the Patriot Act
-He has shown disregard for proper judicial procedures in obtaining warrants for intelligence gathering
-He is ultimately responsible for poor post-war planning for Iraq
That's not to say I think the man is evil or that I hate him. I think he has faced a lot of hard decisions, and though I believe he has made the wrong decisions, it's easy to see how he could have been lead astray. For example, what a lot of people see as dangerous encroachment on civil liberties, I think Bush honestly sees as his duty to better protect the American people from terrorism. What I see as intrusive nanny-state measures, he sees as using the government to help those in need.
Still, that does not absolve him of the responsibility to follow the constaints of the Constitution and of good administration. It's just that his mistakes are not bad enough to warrant the kind of mindless hatred I've seen from some people.

Almost no one has a genuine, valid opinion about the President. Seriously, this guy's shrouded in mystery thanks to all the blatant, and loud misinformation on TV.
The sad thing is that nowadays, the news no longer gives stories and facts, nowadays, the news channels have programs to tell us how we should intrepret, and how we should react to the news.
Not only that, but a very small group of people want us to believe there is some insane cultural war going on that just isn't happening.
On one hand, you have a whole load of Bush bashers, and on the other you have a load of people saying how friggin great he is, when they don't even know about half of the shít he's actually done for the country.
Here's what I do know about Bush and his administration : they all have business ties to the companies getting no-bid contracts in Iraq and other places around the world.
One can go so far as to say he's corrupt and all that, but the truth is, that any president would have done the same. A lot of people in power use their prestige to secure some lucrative deals.
The war? Well, I know this, Bush made it seem clear that we were going into Iraq to investigate and disarm Hussein. However, we didn't find some massive payoff of WMDs like he said there'd be.
In the meantime, the original war on terror was based in Afghanistan. The vast majority of our troops is still in Iraq, now trying to help them work out democracy..... in a country that's spent it's entire history under theocratic rule..... so that's a mess, too.
The enemy? What's there to study, it's the same religious extremists that have been causing havoc since the 60s and before.
I know very little about Bush... but I have a stronger opinion on the way this country's going. His administration did nothing to coerce companies to start hiring back it's laid-off workers during September 11th. Something like that would have offset our "jobless recovery" Where companies saw huge profits, even though they were working with less people.
How can you expect the president to not get slammed. He's the face for not just his administration, not even for his party, but for the entire people. We're in a war we don't know much about, there's been an increased amount of spending put into weapons, our boys are out there fighting the war, and the nice little surplus in the national debt we once had is now a massive trillions-dollar hole.
To tell you the truth, I like the guy.
He's got balls. He doesn't take shít from no one.
He's also got an interesting sense of humor,
and he's charismatic in the stupid-kid kinda way.
I mean, he's the biggest asshole ever,
and I find that massively entertaining.
However, the turn of events we've taken since 9/11.....
..... well...... it sucks.
I'm sure even YOU can agree to that one.

This looks like the type of question where you are looking for some conservative to say that they are all addle-brained sheep. I am not about to give you that. If you want a real answer thought out to your question then read on.
I have studied the administration, the constitution, and the law. I have also studied history and international politics. He is definately in violation of the FISA laws as well as the War Crimes Act.
He deliberately lied to get us into Iraq. When he was saying that he still was hoping for diplomacy, he had already stepped up bombing in Iraq and escalated hostilities (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/southern_focus.htm). The plan to invade Iraq was in place prior to him taking office (http://musingsfromtheoutside.blogspot.com/2006/04/predestined-war.html). I do not buy as a coincidence for one second that the board of "The Project for the New American Century" is looks like a guest list at a Bush cabinet meeting. This was their clearly their expressed, written intention before they took power. Only an idiot would think that they changed their mind after they took power and had the war they were looking for forced upon them.
I have also studied the enemy. The real enemy is our international policies. They do have legitimate reasons to complain, to even hate us. That doesn't justify flying a plane into a building, but there are legitimate greavences. Bush's refusal to accept that means that we are going to keep fighting until either the Muslims agree that they don't, or they are all dead (I think he is gearing up for the latter).
As for the environment, he has made it worse. Since he started deregulating big business the polution rate is getting much worse, and the weather is getting more extreme do to the increasing temperatures.
He is funneling millions of tax dollars to Christian organizations, in violation of the 1st Amendment. The "faith based initiatives" funding has ALL gone to either purely Christian organizations, or multi-faith organizations within the Jewish church. Zero dollars have gone to an organization purely Jewish, Muslim, Bhuddist, Hindu or other non-christian religion.

President Bush is a great President. Alot of people don't understand or refuse to see the truth of what he is trying to do for our country. He will go down in history as one of our greatest Presidents.

If you listen to him, he is an idiot. Go look up a George Bush quote sight and read the gems that come out of his mouth.
He skipped out of military service and was kicked out of the national guard after many strings were pulled to get him in. He likes to push his religious agendas.
Just a few reasons I do not care for him. Hate might be a little too strong. He is a mindless idiot but with help he bought and cheated his way into office.

I became an autonomous because of the fact of Bush. He purely holds Republican perspectives on gun administration & abortion. i've got continually long previous against the grain on abortion, yet i'm a staunch supporter of smaller government & fisical responsability, And the assumption of him being a republican merely flooring me. every time I pay attention republicans protecting him i understand I made the superb determination in turning out to be an autonomous. he's a pathetic exuse of a republican & i'm happy i'm no longer clumped into the comparable catagory anymore. I merely choose real republicans could look at his strikes, & use their brains. they could comprehend he's no longer even on the ingredient of being a real republican!

Where to begin....Let's see...Failed foreign policy. He tried to intimidate Iran and North Korea into giving up their nuclear ambitions. Instead, Libya surrenders, and North Korea and Iran sped their programs up. Iran has enough enriched uranium for two or three nukes. North Korea, up to a dozen. North korea is the bigger threat because, once they iron out the bugs, they have the technology to reach mainland America.
Domestic policy. Social Security benefits have been cut. His Prescription Drug plan was to REDUCE the out of pocket expenses When in fact it hasn't. I know about both because I had to move my mom in with me because she could no longer afford to be on her own. She's disabled due to a work place accident. Under Bush's restructing of SSI and Disablility, she went from $1200 a month to $550. Under his Drug plan, she went from paying $27 a month to $150 a month for her medications. And she's not the only one. I've talked to senior's who are receiving the same "benefits" and they're telling me the same thing. Drastic cuts in retirement pay, and higher drug costs.
That's just some of the things wrong with this Administration. I'm not even going to talk about rewards for incompetence, or tje retaliation against those who speak out.

It is what Bush represents the world corporate ruling Class not the American public he occasionally babbles lip-service too, in sad attempts to gain public support! But actions or non-action speaks louder than words! And it is not just him by any means, it is Representative Government in general they have elevated their own status to public enemy #1 by allowing corporations too have their way with the American public in a grand victimization style! Our own Government the real Enemy!

How many reasons do you want??? We should NEVER have went to war in Iraq, our foreign policy is non-existent, he has no clue on environmental policy or issues, the BILLIONS of dollars spent on a pre-emptive war in Iraq could've been better spent on homeland security as well as other things, his veto of stem cell research, his TRYING to get a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, handling of the aftermath of Katrina, his closed mindedness when it comes to challenging ANY of his policies, how many more do you need? None of this is cool. I'd like to hear your reasons for why you love him?

... if you watch/read the news... more than one source... you have plenty of reasons...
do you guys have to ask this question two times a day... and everyone comes and lists the reasons, and then someone asks the question again... guh... don't the questions pop up on the "already asked" bar?
I'm tired of listing the reasons for you guys and then you still ignoring them... it's pointless... if you cared, you would watch the news and find out yourself anyway, but if you do care, or think I have no reasons, you can search through my previous posts and find about 50 times where I've listed a few of my complains...
