For me it's probably Joaquin. C.Ronaldo is brilliant too, especially since he can play on both sides, but Joaquin's got him beat atm.

The greatest winger in the world right now would probably be Arjen Robben. At only 22,he's achieved what many others have failed to do....find a permanent spot in the Chelsea midfield. He showed his calibre at Euro 2004,where he was the brightest spark in a galaxy of Dutch stars. Even though his decision making is sometimes off the mark,he has many years ahead of him to mature and develop into an even better player. He has a terrific left foot and can send cross into the box with regular precision. Furthermore.......his pace and his shooting abilities allow him to move inwards and take shots on goal as well. Noone who has seen his goals can question his shooting abilities. Seeing his overall abilities it is hard to question his status as the worlds best.

Christiano Ronaldo, although energetic and talented is an extremely selfish player and has proved that on many occasions. Given an opportunity to pass the ball for a simple goal...he has time and again gone for all the glory. This habit is harmful for whichever side he plays for and hence,i do not rank him as the worlds best.

Robben is very good. He has good control of the ball, he can change speed and make good passes or shoot. During the World Cup he was a bit over confident and did not play well for his team mates but in the latest matches he has shown better communication with the team.
Aaron Lennon is very impressive as well but not as good as Robben with the ball (yet).
Christiano Ronaldo is also very talented but still immature and that affects his game and his team. He doesn't play for the team and argues too much. He is still young and if he works on the mental area of his game he will be one of the top 10 players in the world.

Great answer Villan i totally agree that Aaron Lennon is better than Cristiano "stepover then Fallover" Ronaldo but i would say there are still a couple of wingers around who i would still rate above him at the moment and they would be Joaquin, Robben and Giggs. Give it a couple of years though and i would say Lennon will be the best.
