Since when does a music video have to be historically accurate. And, really, even in the 1920's, there were places whites and blacks could dance together and drink together and the like.

Depends on where you were in the 1920's as to segregation. In the United States in northern and western urban areas there were a lot of places blacks and whites went to mingle together. In many European countries their was no segregation. Also its just a video, don't take it so seriously.

This question sounds very racist! Had to say that first secondly I believe that she was doing a modern day take on the 1920's not necessarily doing the same thing as people actually did back then.

Black and White people still interacted in the 20's! However, there was no wanna-be R&B in the 20's.

I never thought about that before! I guess since it's just a video, so I think she just wanted it to look good and didn't care too much about the historical facts.

Because she's pointing out how stupid racism is, and she's making a statement. Christina has been one for shock value for quite a while now, and even though inter-racial dating is not as big a taboo as it once was, she is still putting pressure on society to re-think their views on racism and prejudice.
