People these days are mainly focused on themselves, money, and what they can get from others. It is sad that the world has come to this; and what is even sadder, is that it will probably get worse. With the war going on and the prices of everything going up now because of gas prices, and other things that are effecting the economy, people are panicking and trying to steal others anyway they can. Crime is going up too, if you have noticed. A lot of people think they can't live these days without lying, cheating, or stealing. Little do they realize: They are only doing it to themselves in the long run. I wish the world would change, but I highly doubt it. It has already got too far out of hand.

Oh for the good old days. Crap. You can keep them. I was born during the Second World War and anyone who lived through the forties, fifties and the early sixties would willingly tell you what to do with the good old days. Hunger, poverty, death and destruction as compared to to-days business - no comparison. Have you ever felt severe hunger knowing that there is no food in the house. In the Fridge, I hear you say. What blinking fridge. Food never lasted more than a day in our house of several small children. Wild fruit, crab apples and even turnips (swedes) were a welcome addition to our summer diet not to mention rabbits and any kind of fish................

For now yes, it seems like the trend. But I think after some years the tables will turn and who knows--maybe the trend will go back again from business suits to agriculture or the Arts or something. Or we'll evolve more and more with information technology and space travels.

You sound like a very angry person, I hope that the world gets better, but between you and me I think things are only going to get tougher, People are who they are weather they are in suits or jeans, they have to work to make ends meet or at least try. The world as it is, is very much at unrest , it needs a lot of work to improve the way we all live so please don't blame the men in suits, it takes all of us to make things better.

The best we can hope for is that it will not always be like this. I hope and pray that one day all of humanity can join together in seeking common goals like:
Defeating Disease
Defeating Hunger
Defeating Discrimination
Defeating Poverty
Defeating Ignorance
Defeating Intolerance
Defeating Environmental Destruction
And so much more...
Have fun but be safe.

We are getting closer to the end of the world. There is too much greed. When more than half the population deals in greedy ways we are going to he** in a handbasked like my Mom said way back in the 60s. Satan is tempting people to not care and to think only of money. No it will get better when Jesus comes back.

Everyone has lost sight of what a great place this is. It's all about who can be more of a master of the universe, and I'm just waiting for God to bomb the planet.

The world is not at all as you've described.
But if it seems that way to you, then you have some issues to resolve regarding what one must do to survive vs more meaningful persuits.
One must do both.

I feel your pain.
I think instead of calling it "The United States of America", we should call it "The United Corporation of America, ltd." tm
It's awful....
Read "Snow Crash". It gives a good sci-fi account of what the country will become with all this greed.
