I get really bad menstral cramps and I've tried Midol but it doesn't seem to cut it. Is there anything out there that is over the counter that can get rid of my cramps quickly?

The only medications or helpers I know of that work for me is:

Aleve and ThermaCare and IcyHot
Aleve is Naproxem Sodium drug, ThermaCare is a heat patch not sticky or anything it is like a mini heat pad no plug in, and IcyHot is a creme that smells but it works.

Others are:
Pamprin

Have you tried Maximum strength Midol? That always works for me, but sometimes, when I'm in the beginning of my period and the cramps are really bad, it takes two doses before it starts to work (not taken at the same time, mind you, taken when you're supposed to take them, with time in between). But believe it or not try going for a walk. I have no idea why, but it actually works. I've also heard of using a heating pad on your tummy. and there's always Advil or ibuprofin, that stuff always works.

It may sound silly, but drink some milk, that'll help. I used to have really really bad cramps when I was a teenager. I read in some magazine that if you start to drink more water throughout the month, your stomache cramps will lessen. It's true they did! So for now get a glass of milk, and start drinking more water. :)

Ibuprofen taken before the cramps begin will inhibit the secretion of prostaglandins, which cause the cramping. It's hard to gage...but, 600mg has to be taken before the cramping begins, and then continued, every 6 hrs.

I have tried Advil and thought it worked pretty well. I have read that it is important to try to take it as soon as you start cramping for it to work the best- that is what I do.

Try this:
Swallow 1 tablespoon of cumin and 1 glass of arrack to reduce the Menstruation Pain.

I took it from a website with some more home-remedies.
