When I wash my hair it seems like a ton of it is falling out. Should I call my doctor about this or is it normal for pregnant women to lose a lot of hair?

I take my prenatal vitamins everyday and I eat healthy foods. I just went for my check up and all was fine (blood pressure, sugars,etc...).
It has been over 102 degrees here everyday. Could that have something to do with it?

Yes it is normal. I have tons of hair and seemed to lose half of it everyday, especially postpartum too, but your hair and body is constantly replenishing itself and by taking prenatal pills you are actually replacing that hair faster than normal so don't worry. Your hair may feel limp or different in texture. Try special shampoos to see what works best. Good luck! I'm a proud mommy of a 19-month-old princess.

Hair loss is normal after giving birth (appx. 3-4 months later). Usually during pregnancy, hair tends to become healthier and fuller due to the hormones & prenatal vit's. I would definitely talk to your doctor to make sure there aren't any other factors playing here. Have you asked your mother if this happened to her? Family history may answer some questions. Don't stress yourself too much over this. The stress of thinking about it can also contribute to it.
Good luck. I'm sure it'll be fine.

i'm youthful than you and that i lose hairs like that each and all of the time. Your hair is created from lifeless cells, and the autumn out each and every so often. in basic terms via fact some fall out daily does no longer recommend you're going bald. So, i might say what you're dealing with is easily organic.

This is totally normal for pregnant women. I experienced this with both of my pregancies and it always seemed like I was loosing a lot of hair, but my doctor said that it is a very common side affect. It is just your hormones and you will be fine. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

It is normal for you to loose your hair because of the vitamins and pregnancy. Try putting aloe vera in your hair once a week for 20 minutes it might help a little. I did that for a while 2 years ago and it helped.

This is completely normal, when I was pregnant my hair fell out also- it will stop after the baby is born. your body is just going through so many changes and your baby is pretty much consuming all the proteins that you would normally receive. I suggest that you go to the book store and pick up- "what to expect when your expecting", perfect book for you!!! This will answer all those questions you may have.

I think it's fairly normal. For me, it didn't happen until after my babies were born, but it's all tied to hormonal changes. It doesn't hurt to let your doctor know, just in case.
