I share a common view expressed here that Firefox is a superior product, and I understand that Google have come to some financial arrangement with the Mozilla Foundation to help with its development, so I guess if Google like it, then it's probably pretty damned good. If the new I.E. has some features that Firefox has had for a long time already, then it's just playing catch-up, and about time too!

Gosh some people who answer are so stupid. Of course IE has been around first, but Firefox is superior at such a young age of development, which shows how crappy IE was to start with. Firefox was very different from how IE runs, so it DIDN'T rip off of IE.
And yes, I do think the new IE is a Firefox ripoff. I'll never use it unless I absolutely have to. I haven't even upgraded yet.

The fact that Microsoft has at long last introduced tabbed browsing doesn't mean that they have 'ripped off' Firefox. They just used some common sense for once.
Anyway, Firefox has nothing to worry about - it is far superior in almost every way to Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

I think they saw the popularity of Firefox and incorporated some of the great features of it into IE.
