dear jamie, may i ask how old you are? never-mind, i think you need not worry yourself about such things. If you are a wonderful person aside being or your beauty? then, girls and ladies alike will want to be your best friends also or too. They will be more than willing to help you when you are in trouble and the rest.
however, i could just see why the boys what to be your friend too. since you know what some or most of them are up to, it's in your hands to control or not to control them (tell them what you want and how you planed going about it or relate to them in a positive way).
