Natural law (assuming for sake argument that term even means anything) has nothing to do with legal requirements and legal benefits.
For those who argue that homosexual conduct should be prohibited because it isn't "natural", does that mean that an adult male should be allowed to have sex with a 12 year old girl, because that is natural? According to nature, one a female hits puberty, she is ready to have sex. So, if that's your only criteria...
Legal marriage has nothing to do with sex. A man and a women can get married, never have sex, never raise children, and still have all the same legal benefits of the status.
Legal marriage has nothing to do with sexual orientation. A gay man and a lesbian woman can get married, even though both are gay. But two straight women cannot get married, even though neither are lesbians. The laws against same-sex marriage are pure gender-based discrimination. Nothing more.
And yes, they should be allowed, because it's not up to our government to deny couples the benefits of state-recognized monogamy purely based on their gender. The only valid arguments against same-sex marriage are on purely religious grounds, and those are not acceptable reasons to enact civil law.
The exact same arguments were raised to say that inter-racial marriage was unnatural or disgusting, and it took most of century before the government stopped trying to enforce racial prejudice.
How long before out government stops trying to enforce the morality of one particular religion on everybody, whether they want it or not?

YES!!! I cannot believe this. Same sex marriage should be allowed by the law and all the country. It's just incredibly stupid and ignorant to not allow that. I hate, really HATE people who are so close minded as to say, "no, because it's gross" or " no because it's not in the bible" come on!! Divorce because of money and other stupid reasons are not allowed by the bible and yet it happens all the time. God!! This gets me so upset. I am an African american male and I remember all to well when my people were descriminated against and the struggles and losses that we endured inwhich to be seen as equals in this country( and we're still not there yet) and it upsets me because the majority of this country is back where it was 60 odd years ago. Have we really not grown? Are we still that IDIOTIC??!!! *sighs* I just can't believe that we're so close minded that we can't allow two people who love each other to be together just because of their orientation. I heard a comedian joke, and I'll end it on this note...why can't they have the right to be just as miserable as we are.... :P but yea we soo need to let them marry there is no strong LEGAL reason not to, as to how this will affect the natural law, it wont...

According to history. Marriage between a man and a woman was not a natural thing. Humans did what could best be called "mating." Laws are made my man according to his whims. My thoughts about what goes on between two people is that it is a private matter between them and God and nobody has the right to interfere with that. In other words, everybody needs to mind their own business and stay out of everybody elses. People are always trying to judge others and tell them how they should live. Nobody has the right to judge somebody else unless they are without flaws. Since there is nobody who is without flaws, people need to monitor their own situations and leave others to monitor their own.

Same sex marriage has nothing to do with natural law. Natural law is circumvented every time we save a baby that's born prematurely, every time a diabetic takes an insulin shot, every time we have life saving surgery...etc. etc. These couples are going to be together anyway so nothing is going to change just because it is recognized by the government.

Natural law? Same sex marriage should not effect gravitational pulls, the changing of the seasons, or the mating and/or migratory patterns of any species.

Same sex can have all the legal advantages of man and wife marriages. They should not be allowed to adopt since they would need the other sex to have a child and they have chosen not to go that route.

Natural law would not be affected by same sex marriage, as natural law is unchanging. That a country were to violate natural law would affect the country, not natural law.

Oh what a confused world this is! As if the world doesn't have enough problems like a declining population and aging problem which will accentuate the more serious socio economic and political problems. Get real people - marry and procreate

Yes, same sex marriage should be recognized by ALL countries, regardless of what ANY law stipulates. Can we all say freedom of choice?!
