hi.i study english and this apart of my homework.i wanted to know what is wrong with this sentence:
My brother-in-law's just recently bought a big new house to replace their old one.

but i wanted to say sth to sport099: if you omit (s) then how about just and recently because you need peresent perfect before it

you can`t say just recently. It`s either just, either recently.

Depending on the number of brothers it should be
(with just one brother): My brother in law recently bought a big new house to replace his old one. (with more than one brother) My brothers-in-law recently bought a big new house to replace their old one.

In N Z you possibly have some expressions which at the on the spot are not heard elsewhere, not even in Australia. i'm southern English, yet became in oz..for 3 years contained in the early 1970s. Visited N Z round Auckland for some hours on the way living house from oz..through sea. yet then, what's "English" English or British English? so a ways as i'm worried the North (of england) is yet another united states of america for language!
