I have been trying to determine the purpose of tracking Osama bin Laden when according to the FBI he had nothing to due the 9/11 attacks. The FBI wanted poster for him doesn't mention the 9/11 attacks, it only mention the 1998 embassy attacks. Many other terrorist were also responsible for those embassy attacks. Furthermore the 9/11 commission report only mentions Osama bin Laden twice, and once was a quote from the Times stating the he may have not been involved with the plot. So why all the focus on Osama bin Laden when there are many other terrorists.

Osama Bin Laden is the symbolic head of Al-Quaeda. As such he is considered ultimately responsible for 9-11. He is also the one Bush & Co. touted most as the cause of the attacks. Capturing him would be more of a morale victory than anything else.

Who is tracking OBL? USA? I thought Bush "Cut and Ran" regarding OBL. He gave up on him 2 years ago and he hardly mentions his name. Why? because OBL is a friend of the Bush's Family. They have lots of interests with each other. Why would Bush track OBL?
