Why do birds suddenly appear, everytime you are near?

It's this bird seed shirt I wear in case I need to escape in a hurry.

It is because you are a statue, my dear. Birds, mostly of the pigeon-icarus variety, like suddenly appearing and putting the poop upon the statues.
