i have norton antivirus and a popup said that i got a virus and i know its from limewire...how do i get rid of it?

Did the antivirus not free it? If it just identified it, go to Symantec support and find the downloads to clean all known viruses.

yea he's right, also you really might wanna consider getting rid of limewire. As for the actual process of getting rid of it you need to run a system sweep and then it'll walk you through the steps to quarrentine the mal-ware and then delete it. Also keep in mind if you do this it may interfere with limewire working properly, as limewire uses some files that most spyware programs will identify as mal-ware.

Run Norton, also download and run: Ewido, Spybot-Search and Destroy, and Ad Aware

Delete anything that comes up. Restart your computer.

Should delete your virus. I also recommend uninstalling limewire though, it will end up giving you multiple viruses that could one day crash your computer.

Easy Maintenance - Download and Run EasyCleaner (may catch viruses before they start attacking) Run all the options, delete everything that comes up, dont worry you can always undo what you click, restart your computer.

Uninstall limewire, change your antivirus, use mcfee or Zonealarm, and scan all your files. should help

try to turn on your computer in safe mode and run Norton
try to run you computer in safe mode with command promt and run norton
or search for norton antivrus in dos mode
try anothrer antivirus like avast , avg, mac afee, bit defender
or try to scan online your computer
