They will eat plants, trees etc if they belong to the former class.
And they will eat their peers or other animales if they belong to the latter one.

Probably the best initial response is to ask him what he thinks they eat. Picking out something you think is harmless may not fit you son's world. Tell him sheep and maybe he has a sheep he's fond of. Tell him knights and maybe he's afraid for his little friend at school who likes to play knight. Discussing things with your child beginning with his thoughts is often the best tactic I have found. My son is 15 now and I still start a lot of our discussions that way. It's not important to have all the answers. It's important to be able to help your son find his own.

basically a dragon eats meat like cow, sheep, horse, tigers lions etc. Although I recall a dragon eating another dragon. Probably because hes so hungry or as a proof of that dragons superiority.
