If I were one of the people in a country that didn't have a right to vote, didn't have medical care, didn't have schools, I'd be so happy to have your country's help. Sometimes it's necessary to fight against the armies that are keeping people from having these things, before helping them get them. I say it is good to "interfere" because it can improve people's lives. And yes, I agree that oil is the incentive. Still, it is helping others.

Helping other countries become democratic isn't a bad thing, but you bring up a good point. There are a lot of countries out there that could use our help yet we don't seem interested in them. The answer is what you have indicated, there is no benefit for the US. It is sad.

I don't think we should be pushing democracy on other countries. If they want it they will find a way to implement it. It shouldn't be our decision. It should be theirs.
