Okay so here's the situation

I recently bought a 2000 ford mustang from a small-time dealership. It is in great condition overall, but there is one problem. The previous owner lowered the car so it is about 2 inches off the ground.

So when im driving my exhaust scrapes the ground (when i go over bumps..even the smallest bumps)

Last night i took a look at it and it turns out the whole exhaust system is simply hanging..theres no support brackets or anything. How expensive would it be to get the brackets to support it?

Also..how expensive would it be to raise the car 2 inches or so? The previous owner seemed to have cut a leaf or two of the springs, making it shorter, so im gonna need completely new springs.

Serious answers only please. Thanks!

WOW....okay. I would say if your exhaust isn't already ruined from the constant scrapping on the pavement it should run you about $50-$100 to "rehang" your exhaust. As far as the leaf springs go.........jeez prob. a mexican, lmao I'd say an estimate of $150-$400 on the leaf springs depending on how bad they are, etc. if I was there I could tell you but......and as far as the shocks go to heighten your ride would prob.be just as cheap as rehanging your exhaust. Go with Eibach or Monroe although I put Eibach on my cobra and it is by faaaaaar much smoother of a ride. Any more questions buddy just ask!

The exhaust brackets are fairly inexpensive. You can buy the rubber pieces at an auto parts store. Inspect the exhaust system for any cracks from scraping the road.
As for the coils, look into an aftermarket setup. You'll probably find that aftermarket lowered springs are cheaper than the original coils. Change the shocks while you are doing the spring swap. The car will ride with much greater control after you make these corrections. If you take the car slowly over speed bumps and steep driveways, you'll notice that you won't scrape as much.

its gonna get pretty expensive if u're gonna start buying new springs for a mustang.. its not worth it considering its a used one.. I'd suggest just get the support brackets which aren't really expensive.. do it urself u know fix the support brackets.. B'sides that just leave the height the way it is unless the car is still scraping after u get the support brackets too.. then u're better off buying stock mustang springs from that year.. buy them used u might find them if u ask a mechanic r someone like that..
