I assume you are asking for witnesses, give a bit more detail, road, time, place etc
Had anyone seen a likely car in the neighbourhood at the time - that's the sort of question from which you may elicit the sort of response you require.

I think your chances are good at finding the person. Tell people where the damage on the vehicle may be from the impact. Good luck. Post signs and get the word out. I hope your boyfriend is okay.

Use the Police, they are in a much better position to find the driver and to take appropriate action when they do.
