"Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

People can be falsely led into war. That does not mean that every time a leader claims there is a threat that the leader is lying.

I'm sure FDR said we needed to fight and rally together as Americans. And most everybody thinks WWII was justified.

The Nazis tremendously plenty invented modern-day propaganda. And it did no longer extremely get plenty greater imaginitive on account that then. And sure. this is actual because of the fact the familiar inhabitants did no longer get a dime smarter because of the fact the fortieth besides. Remarkably it extremely works the two properly in case you tell those idiots precisely how they're being hosed. the sole element you may desire to do to invalidate that one is to press the patriotic button. The extremely frightening area approximately this one is that during the different situation that they had wager on the government advertising them ****. much less government because of the fact greater government is risky precise? How the hell do DHS or PA in good shape into that one?

He's right--people are all too easily led around by the nose. It just depends on who is writing the story and how convincing it sounds. In our present-day case, our president tells us his wire-tapping program is legal and just, etc. and at least some people still believe him, simply because he is who he is. But the media has the bigger power to sway public opinion now than the president does, so the great majority of people disapprove of him. I guess it just depends on who is spilling the "facts."

Seems like somebody in our government is a big fan.

On the bright side it keeps a lot of thriller writers employed which is good for the economy. Hey, I'm trying to look on the bright side of life and these last 6 years that light hasn't been shining so bright...if you know what I mean.

I tend to agree with that.....but it is really good when you have pictures flying into buildings, killing 3,000+ people, and the trying to do it again with their capitol.....boy, if Hermann only knew those things....he would have shown the bombings of Berlin, and used those things to get the people ire up........oh yeah, no one attacked them......they were the aggressors.....guess that lying was the only way to get things done back then
