A couple of things that I've downloaded recently have a 1-2 second delay on the sound. Is this just a poor quality download, or is there some trick I can do to fix it?

It would normally indicate a poor recording where incorrect settings have been used.

Many people think that recording from a stream is a simple case of pressing a button, that is not the case.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do except find another recording if you intend to keep your download.

But you need to be careful of what you are downloading, it is all to easy to breach copyright regs these days!

It sounds to me like it is a buffering problem. Its taking a few secoonds to load the sound, then plays. Could be as simple as not having enoung memory to hold a large sound file.
