Please see the webpages for more details on Human papilloma virus (Genital warts).
Genital warts (also known as venereal warts) are caused by a virus, the human papillomavirus (HPV).
Warts are found on or around the penis, anus or vagina.
They are small lumps which have an irregular cauliflower-like surface.
The colour and shape vary depending on their location. Sometimes the warts cause irritation and itching.
Genital warts are a serious health concern as certain types of HPV have been associated with cervical cancer.
However, most women infected with genital warts do not have the strains of HPV that give rise to cervical cancer.
Genital warts often disappear even without treatment. However, there are a range of drug treatments.
Small warts can also be removed by freezing, burning or using laser treatment.
Occasionally, surgery is used to remove larger warts.

in women it CAN cause cancer. but What it is, is a virus called human papiloma virus, hence hpv. in men it usually has no signs and it is has gone a long time without being widely tested for because it was so expensive. it's becoming more often tested for because it has been linked to cancer. if you are a girl you shold have regular papsmear tests and just keep an eye on it. after time it should recess back into your system. but like any virus you have ever had, it stays in your system for life. go to yahoo or google and look up human papiloma virus. you should find all the information you could possibly want and it will suprise you on the percentage of people who carry the virus. it's quite common. hope it helps.

It is not a disease it is a virus, many times completely harmless, that is passed between people during sexual intercourse. Most women will be exposed to it during their lives but most, if they have a healthy immune system, will NOT get cancer from the virus. This latest PR campaign is to get yet another hysterical fear started in the American public and then sell them something, a medicine, to SAVE them. It is all a lie.

Human papilloma virus will give a person warts or then again, nothing at all. Once in a while, in people with depleted immune systems, a type of cancer can result.

Human papiloma virus. Causes cervical cancer. There's a vaccine for it now but conservatives are trying to stop its widespread use, saying that vaccination against this disease will lead to sexual promiscuity (like anyone has sex if they think they might get HPV from it).

HPV is short for Human Papilloma Virus, which is more commonly known as warts. They can occur on your hands, and also on your gentitals, which is a slightly different strain.

Human Pampalona Virus. I think I spelled it wrong.

I passed it on to my wife and she passed it on to our first son.
He has had six surgeries to remove them from inside his throat. They get passed on to the oldest child sometimes. His voice is getting really raspy again and has to have surgery to have them removed again. His doctor said they will disappear when he reaches puberty or if there is a significant spike in his defense system. It has been a real bad situation for us.
And condoms don't usually offer protection from HPV. And millions of people have them. And they cause cancer for the woman, my wife has to see a doctor several times a year to make sure all is ok.
