It depends who you work for and if you have made a "name" for yourself. Obviously, if you're self employed and you get a "scoop" complete with pictures you make make a lot of money. One story will make you more money than most people make in a year. You need to be in the right place at the right time and be friendly to the people who matter. Getting pictures and stories from people on the verge of becoming famous or even infamous can help too. Some blog sites allow pictures now - that could be a start and a way of getting a little practise in.

Good for you mate, I'm a Newcastle fan too and the destruction of the club I've supported for 40 years is heartbreaking. It would be a fitting tribute to donate your money to the Sir Bobby Robson foundation to help battle Cancer.
