It personnaly it's a language like another (I'm a Quebecker so I do speak french), it's just that there are more subtilities, if I can say, in french than in other languages. In english, for example, there's mad and angry (and maybe some other that I may not know) but it french there could be like 4 other words meaning the same things with small differences.

They enjoy wine from a very young age. Their city and art is beautiful. They are a fashion capital and trendsetting city. Their language is lovely. Captain Picard was a frenchman... ooohh sexy. They seem to be having racial divide right now. Poverty seems to be on the increase. I've never understood the socialist government thing but I'd sure like healthcare for everyone. And they punked out on sending troops to Southern Lebanon this weekend. That about sums it up.

That is a language that I am looking forward to learning. I love the way it sounds and have always admired the French people.

First let me say that I have been to France twice. Having said that I have met very nice French people and others who were snotty.
Second, let me say that hardly anybody likes the French. Spain and France put up with each other and England still hates the French. The French don't like the USA because they think we're crude and that we brag too much. They think we lack the refinement that many of them think they have.
Third, it upsets me that the French like us when we bail them out of trouble. (WWII and WWI), but other than that, they look down on us. If it wasn't for Paris, nobody would care if the French existed or not. But, honestly, Paris is Beautiful.

It's similar to English, since they're both Germanic languages, and not that hard to learn.
