Hello,
"Bluetooth" is the brand name for wireless technology. Bluetooth replaces the need to have cords connected to devices. It is the ultimate in "hands-free" technology. Bluetooth can be used for mobile phones, hand held organisers, such as a Palm Pilot or a Blackberry, and even computers.
Bluetooth works using a radio wave frequency. You might have seen people wearing small earpiece devices. Their mobile phone has Bluetooth technology added, and they can speak on their phone, with-out holding the phone, because the phone and the ear pierce are connected via the radio wave.
Bluetooth is also helpful when an individual has several eletronic devices. The idea behind it is to make using these devices more convenient and to synchronise or link-up them up.
For more information, I have listed the official Bluetooth website below, as well as the page that explains more in depth how Bluetooth works.
Are you interested in Bluetooth for yourself, or did you hear about it, and you were curious about what it is?
I hope this is helpful. :o)

Bluetooth® technology is a wireless standard developed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, or Bluetooth SIG , an industry association of electronics manufacturers. The Bluetooth standard ensures that many different types of devices with wireless capabilities (Bluetooth headsets, PCs with Bluetooth cards, Bluetooth mobile phones, Bluetooth keyboards, Bluetooth handhelds, etc.) can communicate with each other without the need for extensive setup by the user. Bluetooth devices usually talk to each other seamlessly and automatically.

An open specification for seamless wireless short-range communications of data and voice between both mobile and stationary devices. For instance, it specifies how mobile phones, computers and PDAs interconnect with each other, with computers, and with office or home phones. The first generation of Bluetooth permits exchange of data up to a rate of 1 Mbps per second, even in areas with much electromagnetic disturbance. You connect the USB cable with USB port on your computer using the bluetooth setting and you can download pictures, ringtones etc.

It's a wireless device. Someone answered that you can send pictures to someone and thats half true. The other person needs to have a blue tooth adapter. You can also put it on your printer so you don't have a cable running from your computer to your printer. You can put it on many devices. They have them for cell phone headsets so there isnt a wire going from your cell phone to your head set.

Bluetooth is a way for different eletronic devices can 'talk' to each other. It works on radiowaves, and generally has a limit of about 10 metres.
Think of it as a new-fangled infra-red.
The benefits of BT over iR is that with bluetooth you don't need line of sight, so if you wanted to access your phone data via your computer, your phone can be sitting in your pocket or in your desk drawer, or even in the other room.
Bluetooth can be used to link computers to phones, phones to phones, computers to printers, games controllers to consoles, the list is endless.

Bluetooth is a wireless method of connecting a mobile phone to another device, such as a handsfree earpiece. Not sure how it works though.

Bluetooth is wireless communication between two pieces of equipment such as I have in my jeep. I have a Bluetooth equipped mobile phone and a receiver in the jeep and as soon as I get in the jeep with my phone either in my pocket or handbag, for example, the phone is automatically connected to the hands free kit in the jeep. Dunno how it works, but it is brilliant!
