This site is supposed to be here to help people. Far to many people give guesses and completely bogus answers in order to rack up points.

I know what you mean. I have posted questions and have to give 10 points to some answers that were worthless, Now I prefer to delete the question than to give the 10 points for a worthless answer. I guess they just want two points and write nothing, that is the reason they answer. Once I asked about Henna Tattoos in El Paso and somebody accused me of been racist and told me to leave El Paso and that Mexicans were more respectful than whites, like that has anything to do with the Parlor I was looking for... I also try to ask for a Restaurants that have Kids eat for Free and I was insulted many times for been cheap and to pay for what my kids eat.. It is a hassle to ask a question, you have to be ready to get lynch..

I'm not after your points. We have all seen poor answers, mostly vulgar. Many people live such small lives, a forum of this type is the only way they have to be noticed. Why do boys wear their hair greased and spiked? To be noticed. When I was a teenager, we wore pink and black, bell bottoms, collars turned up, ball caps on backward. It will never change. Now when they give vulgar answers, then I report them and raise cane as this is a family site and I don't want the punks to take it over. Ignore the foolish and look for the gems.

When I read a Q that could be easily taken to Google or another search engine, like Metacrawler, or one that is purely inflammatory or posted in an inappropriate category, I ignore the Q and move onto the next Q.
I believe this site is meant - or was originally intended - to inform the asker via personal experiences from others - something a search engine is unable to do.
As to ppl who answer only to get points, I feel if they have the idea that getting points is a goal unto its own, so be it! I ignore then as well.

Many people are just addicted to Yahoo! Answers despite not possessing the knowledge to answer a lot of questions. They engage in the contest to see who can earn the most points in the fastest way.
I have seen people post useless questions saying: "Free 2 pts for everyone!" or "Give me a good reason why you deserve 10 pts".
But in cases like these, you just have to take advantage to them and get the extra points.
I've seen lots of bad answers, can't say which one was the worst. But probably just those that say: "2 pts! Thx". I just ignore those and give my answer, trying to be as informative and helpful as possible.

I completely agree with you. I personally am here to see if I could get some names of sites to help me find my sister. The worst answer I recieved about that was "whats her name?"

maybe when one guy asked who sing some song the girl answered him something like "Don`t know,but i like your avatar..."
