Try seeing an orthopedic doctor, it could have something to do with your hip.

So, I had the same pain a month ago and finally went to a pediatrist. For me, the problem was actually in the bottom arch of the foot. (1) my foot rolled easily which pulled muscles/tendons (2) I wasn't getting enough support in my shoes. So, the first thing the doctor told me to do was buy new sneakers. Good sneakers that provided support and cushioning. I ended up with a pair of Nikes, you can actually see how they help prevent the foot from rolling. Right away I noticed a difference. Also, I had to cut back on the walking/ running and sports for a couple of weeks, slowly ease back into it to let the muscles heal. If your sneakers are newer, and you're getting good support, I would make an appt with a pediatrist. For the most part mine is much better, but after heavy exercise, I feel some pain. The doctor said to take some aspirin and lay off. But if it gets worse I'll need cortisone. So, if you can't fix the problem with some simple changes... see a doctor.

Welcome to Ol' Crocks Anonymous".

You my friend have Arthritis in your Right Hip. If not dealt with (soon) you will start to feel pain whilst walking (running will be a distance memory) and whislt sitting down - you won't be able to sit in one place for any length of time without the necessity of wanting and needing to move or stand. Trust me, been there, done that, bought the 'T' shirt. (have had both hips replaced).

Your first port of call is back to your GP and get a referral to your local hospital Orthopaedic Dept. You will need x-rays and more probably an MRI scan. The Surgeon may want to try to alleviate your symptoms with an injection directly into the joint with Cortizone. Sometimes this works and you may not need any further interventions - but they HURT!!!!

Alternatively or some way further down the line you may need/have a full hip replacement. You'll be in hospital for about a week, but then confined to your home for the next 6 - 7 weeks.

Make friends with a walking stick - at some point in the not too distant future you will need one and it will be your constant companion.

Not sure what could be causing that pain, but you should definitely see a different doctor. Second and third opinions are better than settling for what the first Dr. says.

if you only get it when taking leg out to side may be a tight muscle on that side ( you could have strained it couple of yurs ago and now it hads tightened up. i would try some adductor stretches (u should easily find pics on internet), id try something like swimming to try and maintain mobility and strength up hip joint, as clicks are suggestive of instability.
