It was fun. Not only an amusement park. The shows were nice and it has a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I didn't like the surrounding town, they have no traffic management whatsoever and the motels are very tacky.

It totally depends on what kind of parks u like as to whether u would like Dollywood or not. We have been to Dollywood numerous times because we live only 4 hours from there. The park is absolutely beautiful, but if you like to go to the parks for the excitement of the rides, this may not be the park for you. There are rides, but not a lot and they are all so far away from each other. Not much to do at all for very small children. There is also a lot of hills (which is hard on wheelchairs). If you like the thrill of the rides, the best park is Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. They have the fastest, highest and best coasters. Lots of rides there. I saw a post that said motels in Pigeon Forge are tacky but this is so not true. There are tacky all the way to 4 star to choose from, some with lazy rivers even. There are beautiful cabins, chalets and campgrounds everywhere to choose from. There is a lot more to do in Pigeon Forge to do than Dollywood. You need to check out the internet on Pigeon Forge.com. They have several race tracks, miniature golf courses and Gatlinburg which is next to pigeon forge has the ripleys aquarium, an ice skating rink and many other things.

Dollywood is great. It has added alot of new rides. It has rides for the thrill seeker and rides for small children. It also has musical shows so you can take a moment and rest. Beautiful scenery. Friendly people. If you go after 3;00 , you get in the next day on the same ticket, so that's 1 & 1/2 days for the same price. Stay in Pigeon Forge where there are lots and lots of things to do and places to eat. Musical shows, more rides, malls, animal shows. Dolly also has a water park if you go in summer. Only 5 miles to Gatlinburg.Save time for auto one way trails to see the mountains and maybe a bear!

Yeah, Dollywood is a lot of fun. Expensive, but fun. Get there early, cause they close early. Food is good at the sit-down places. Rides are amusement style, but getting better.....it's no Disney World.

My husband has been there. He said it was a beautiful
place and he had so much fun riding an old steam engine
train up the mountain and back. He added Dollywood is
a fun place to be.

No, I have not been to Dollywood. I haven't even heard of such a place. Is it cool? I am missing out on a lot? If I am, I want to go there sometime.

Yes and loved it. Has a very relaxed atmosphere. Great for country music and Dolly Parton fans. They always have concerts and beautiful decorations at Christmas. If you go again, make sure to go to the Dixie Stampede.
