I’m a 33 year old male living in Scotland, I worked in IT for around 7 years supporting users, building systems and finding solutions to software requirements,

I got a job setting up a Document Management dept at a multinational company, I did everything they asked of me from sourcing hardware and software within budget, set up ISO procedures, meeting customers and securing large contracts, but when things started taking off I was pushed to the side in order for the MD's secretary to take the management role and reaped the rewards of large salary, car, laptop mobile etc.

I got really disillusioned with it all and eventually they asked me to resign.

To cut a long story short I took a manual job and done my back in pretty badly, so now I want to get back into IT but I don’t know where to start.

Any suggestions or is it too late.

Not too late at your age and you're in the right business. but you may do better considering becoming self - employed. It depends on your assets and experience. Still a lot of money to be made on the Internet. That guy that did myspace, sold it for $500 million and it's not doing too well now. I talked to a guy working as a computer technician - doing basics like setting up wireless networks in peoples homes and removing viruses. On top of making a very nice living his website was bringing in money from advertising too. The adsense account was paying him every month and they don't pay out less than $100 at a time - about £60. Failing that r-train as a plumber! LOL Now that's a top answer and well worth 10 points. I want to get up to the next level. I'm curious as to what yahoo will offer me - last time it was Windows wallpaper. I may try free Windows wallpaper as a reward on my website - oh, I did that! LOL

it quite is a perplexing question. - in the journey that your a lady and your husband is the basically one operating, you seem to seem down on your self for no longer contributing to the expenditures or regardless of. yet at the same time..... Wow - i fairly won't be able to answer this question. the basically way i might want to respond to this question is that if i became a unmarried make certain.... yet thats no longer what you're asking----- i wager it easily relies upon on your upbringing once you've been a baby, if a females mom informed her to marry a effective guy so she did no longer ought to artwork... then i wager she might want to problem more desirable about her marriage. yet being a guy...... i'm no longer positive - If i had a job that became very sturdy paying and a spouse that attempted each little thing to help out with economic circumstances, i wager i might want to delight in her more desirable for attempting to act like she necessary to help out. If i became a woman i might want to target to make it on my own - basically because i imagine that is a perfect aspect ( an self sufficient lady ).. she is popular with what she needs/needs out of existence... she has her concepts/targets and dosen't count number on everybody for something, hence making her a better individual. i do not even imagine i even spoke back your question... i comprehend how i'm feeling i basically can not write it down - Sorry Bye the way - Love your avatar photo...... basically the eyes can say a lot about someone.

Depends on how long you've been away from it. Start testing the waters by sending out some resumes and applications and you'll begin to get an idea about what you should do. You may need to upgrade your education if you've been away from it for a while.
