When I start my computer, it will startup to the desktop and then it freezes. I can't open anything, and I can't use Ctrl Alt Del to restart it. So I manually turn it off and then back on and everything works fine. Does anyone know why it does this? and how to fix it?

Did you recently load any new software or hardware onto the machine? If so, restart it, but before it gets to Windows you should see some screens and one will say something like "Hit F2 to go to boot set up" Hit the F# that they want you to to get to the boot set up.

You'll want to go to safe-mode boot. Your computer will boot up using minimal hardware. So then go in and delete the hardware or software that you recently installed.

have you installed antivirus recently?

leave your pc when it has booted up for as long as it takes to start responding, (it will eventually respond, usually after about 10-15 mins) then uninstall the antivirus program.

Wrap it up in a warm blanket, and then it won't freeze.
