It is really simple.

They take what ever they want without having to give anything in return. They get the chance to choose and pick the rules and the gains without anyone having a say in it.

They make the rules and everyone else have to live by them even though it means oppression, poverty, and destruction to their own nations.

Don't play stupid....Hezbollah crossed into Israel and kidnapped THREE, not two, soldiers in TWO separate attacks. Israel's response was a appropriate. Israel did not initiate this conflict, it merely is defending itself.
Besides, Hezbollah initiated the attacks under the order of Iran in a successful attempt to get the world community off Iran's nuclear issue. Noticed how there is no longer a strong support by the world AGAINST this issue?? It seems everyone is now focused on Israel and Lebanon.
Besides, it is impossible to compromise and reason an attempt at peace with fanatical, apocalyptic murdering terrorists like Muslims who's God is whispering in their ear to kill and take over the world to form it into the ideal strict Muslim governing hell hole like Iran and Afghanistan during the Taliban!!!
Something else that boggles me, how stupid people like you, evanlah, ideogenetic and biomimetik can be. How ignorant and selectively 'blind' they can be. Never mind how many people would continue to die if the regimes of the Taliban, WWII Japan, Saddam Hussein, N. Korea's 'president' Kim would continue to exist right???? Never mind the atrocities THEY commit and how dire the world situation would be if the United States of America, the greatest land and democracy the world has EVER known, did not take the steps to curb those crimes and stop the suffering and murder, AT WHATEVER PRICE DEEMED NECESSARY!!!!

I do not know the American or Israeli or the other parties concept of peace! What I know the peace that Jesus called for. They should find a way to live together in some kind of agreement that all agree on. it maybe hard or impossible to achieve, however if they think of all the children from all sides that got killed because of their stubbornness, if they think of all the resources they consumed during all these years, if they know God they will stop this madness.
It is all about power and money (no ideology involved), that is the equation for peace for all political parties involved.

It also boggles me, to think that the world sat by and let Isreal destroy a whole country in a few weeks. All because of two kidnapped soldiers. I believe that the usa and Isreal had this planned long before the kidnapping, and that was just their prime excuse to go and wreak havoc. Isreal is flexing its muscle because it has usa backing it in every wrong thing they do. USA and Isreal do not have plans for peace, they have plans to terrorize others, and call it peace.

Their concept of peace is when negotiations fail then we must go to war until an environment can open up again for more negotiation.
I simplified it a lot....but one can only talk so much until they really need to stand up and fight.
I believe that invasion is a good reason to fight. Israel and the US were both invaded by an enemy who doesn't wear a uniform and who they cannot see.
Would you rather us do nothing?

Gore Vidal said it best:

"Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace"

War is profitable. The United States no longer knows how to profit from building CD players, TV's, etc. We have to build armaments. The profit margins are too high (the bill is sent cost-plus to the taxpayer by the warmonger in chief- George W. Bush) and the Republican party is too corrupted by the military-industrial lobby for peace to ever breakout.

“God is not on the side of any nation, yet we know he is on the side of justice. Our finest moments have come when we have faithfully served the cause of justice for our own citizen, and for the people of other land”. George W. Bush.

It is easy to read words without knowing how corrupt language can be. Most people “know” that God is on the side of justice. However, in America “justice” is defined according to American standard. The media act as a megaphone for those in power to propagate America’s “justice” and America’s “divine mission” or the “messianic mission”, as it is called in mainstream media, to bring “democracy” to the Middle East and the world.

The American war on Vietnam that killed more than 3 million Vietnamese people was portrayed in America as a “just war” to “defend” the world from the threat of communism. The opposite was true. Many years later America’s elites acknowledged that the war on Vietnam “was a mistake”. It was one big atrocity. The U.S. army was forced to leave Vietnam. America’s imperialism in Vietnam has suffered a stunning defeat at the hand of peasant and defenceless people. The result of the war was: Vietnam is a country left shattered and its people suffering from America’s immoral war.

For more than a decade the U.S. is engaged in an illegal war against Iraq. In 1991, the U.S. orchestrated the first U.S. war on Iraq, followed by more than twelve years of genocidal sanctions and bombing, which decimated the Iraqi society, and took the lives of more than two million Iraqis.

According to UNICEF, the sanctions against Iraq resulted in the death of 500,000 Iraqi children under the age of 5 years old. In May 1996, “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl asked Madeline Albright, US Ambassador to the UN: “We have heard that half a million children have died [as a result of sanctions]. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it”? Albright responded: “I think that is a very hard choice, but the price, we think, the price is worth it”. UNICEF estimated that the under-5 infant mortality in Iraq in 2001 was 109,000, which has a population of 24 million, compared with about 1000 in Australia, which has a population of 20 million. Iraqi death toll is not being reported and publicly discussed, fearing it will amount to genocidal war crimes against those responsible for the wars.
My advice to Americans is to take a hard look in the mirror, and ask yourselves why your country is committing horrendous terrorist acts on the soils of other countries. The destruction of Iraq and the horror brought forth by American war on the Iraqi people, and America’s other countless atrocities rob America of all moral authority and idealism.

America and Israel like every other nation is worried about peace for themselves not others. Israel attacked Lebanon so they'd think twice about kidnapping their soldiers and sending rockets into their cities. You can only be peaceful as long as everyone around you is. Otherwise you're being a sitting duck.
