There are two different parts of a body engaged in thinking and speaking. There are about 70,000 thoughts originating on an ordinary person's mind everyday but he speaks about the specific subjects as per the situation. One does not need any energy to think, but it takes a little energy, attention from mind, mouth, lips and tongue to speak.
Before uttering anything from his mouth, one must think before what he speaks.

At work there is always a huge chasm between what I want to say, and what I say. At home there is less of a difference, but more of a problem with my big mouth.

There is probably a lesson here....

I usually say what is on my mind. However, If you actually think about what is coming out of your mouth before you say it you may use more tact and diplomacy when speaking with people.

Action. It's alright to think about something but show me by your actions.
Obviously, there are many occasions when it is inappropriate to say what you are thinking e.g. in order not yo offend, but sometimes we have to speak our mind to defend who we are and what we stand for.

What you think is when you just may be listening or thinking(not out loud)or not giving your input about something and what you say is when you are giving your opinion about something.Or sometimes you just don't care what people think or care what people say!!

People tend to say what is polite for society, or what gets them ahead. They don't say what they are thinking because it will get them in trouble. You may be thinking your boss is an *ss, but you certainly wouldn't say it to his face, for fear of being fired! You wouldn't tell your wife she's fat, because you wouldn't want to hurt her feelings! you wouldn't stand up, and say you don't like people of color, because they would attack you!
