you can have a job at the age of 14 years old, but there is a limit on hours you can work and make sure your parents check out the place first so that they know you are not being used for the money you earn. small companies are better i.e local newsagents, small supermarkets, friut and veg shops etc.

Under 15s have 2 abide by Labour laws.
Over 15 to 18, no more than 20 hours a week.

16, but some health and safety requirements will say 18, dependant on the trade.
if at school then 13 - but its regulated by the hours you are allowed to work.. shop work is 16...

Hi you legally have to be 16 but i know that some newsagents employ 13 years of age but i dont know if working in a newsgagent it what you want to do. but its 16 in every other shop.

From 14 but you'd need a work permit and there are restrictions on how many hours you can work and where you can work and what kind of job it will be. Check out www.connexions.gov.uk
