The question is meaningless as asked. Land and capital are substitute goods, so the amount of land necessary to support a human being depends on the amount of physical capital available; the more capital you have, the less land you need.

Modern agriculture (machines, fertilizers, and pesticides) yields ten to twenty times more grain per acre than primitive agriculture did. Hydroponic farming offers even greater yields, but requires a lot of capital, so it's not widely used.

You could support a family on 3 to 5 acres if you used low-maintenance critters like rabbits, chickens and pigs and grew hemp which is good for feed and fibers to make your clothes.

depends which human.. in north amercia we tend to consume a lot more than people in other parts of the world.. so we use a lot more natural resources... people in the USA are particularly the largest part of the problem as they are leading consumers.. their government has brainwashed them for years into thinking that "shopping" is good - well of course its so the government can have people work more and then they pay more taxes...

so really I dont know the answer.. but know it depends on where you live and how greedy you are
