Only you can decide. The average is 6-8 hours but I'm 25 and need 8-9 hours. Everyone's different. You need to listen to your body and see how you feel after a week of 6 hours a night, and a week of 8 hours a night, and so on.

Everyone's different. Some people feel better with only 4 or 5 hours sleep and others feel better with more than 8 hours sleep

This depends on your age, your state of health, whether you have a strenuous physical job, whether you are receiving an appropriate amount of nourishment.
Social factors also interplay for instance whether you live in a warm or cold climate.
Since we have no knowledge of the answers to these (and other questions) it is impossible to supply a definitive answer.

Current thinking is 6 hours (National Sleep Research Laborotory, Loughborough, UK). But I am trying that, and I don't think it is enough!
