where could I find a tattoo artist to discuss my tat with?

i have the picture in my head but I cannnot draw. and I do not like the work i have seen in my area. this tattoo will take up both arms shoulders chest and back it is very big.

i am in Odessa Tx ido not want these artist to do it i have been to the shops here and i do not think thier work is good enough to put on my body

Smart approach. My son, himself, is a tattoo artist in NYC, and, while I obviously cannot recommend him, there are principles to follow. You'll need to fine a truly professional shop, hygienic, good artists and one that is geared to CUSTOMIZED work. And they both back up their work and commit to follow up on instructions and care. No "scratchers" with tons of flash.
You are limited geographically because the type of tattoo you envision will require a good many visits. Try locating suggestions through word of mouth from people whose tattoos you respect and google the subject to see who is out there within a reasonable radius. It would really help to know where your area is. Some of the best tatoo artists in the world are in Miami and L.A. You might even try Las Vegas.

I suggest going to a tat parlour in your area and sit down and dicuss with them what you want. Many will take the time to draw one for you. They do not need a stencile. Also, check online Pat Fish website. I bet if you email her, she would draw one up for you. I am ordering one of her pieces of work online.

you could check out some websites, tlc, miami ink link and get at least an idea, and then ask around for a reputable person. then go discuss it with them, most people do not design their own. i looked around for along time until i found mine,and am happy with it. good luck.
