I don't have cholestasis. Treatment depends on the cause. If you have liver failure then you should avoid anything sedative. Try loratidine for the itching. If not liver failure you can try chlorphrenamine (piriton) which is a better anti-histimine than loratidine. There are two other medicine specific for cholestasis but it's best to treat the cause of the problem. One taste like liquid sand (or so my patients tell me) and the other you can only take for few weeks max.
