Yes, he is a real person. My friend works at Myspace and has hung out with Tom on occasions. He is real. Myspace is safe as long as you dont put any info on your site that gives away where you work, live, go to school etc.

Yes, he was the one who had the original idea, and started the site. The reason his profile is added by default when you sign is because he wanted to give a personal atmosphere to Myspace, I guess.

Yes, he lists Cheap Trick in his band favorites so he's OK with me. He invented the site with another guy but they sold it for oodles of money. It is safe if you are careful.
