NO it,s a law God made in the Old Testament. and if a man kill,s someone he should face the same punishment. if you break someones arm, your arm should be broken also. Everything was simple back then, you killed, we killed you back. now we have court systems that have to hear your side of the story. and i think too many killers are walking away Scott free because the evidence didn't fit the crime. If DNA proves you did it, i think that person should be put to death within a month of his court hearing. Instead of costing us tax payers all that money having them sit on death row for 8 or 10 years.

Us? Who are us? The only people still practicing an eye for an eye are the middle eastern jerks wanting to kill each other. We've pretty much moved past that idea as westerners and believe more in the New Testament teachings.

Yes, and that is the point.

Justice dictates that if a criminal takes something they must return it. However, sometimes criminals take something that can not be returned (like an eye). The only way to balance the scales of justice is to deprive the criminal of the same thing of which they deprived their victim. Thus the criminal has not gained an advantage on their victim as a result of their crimes.

People have been doing the eye for an eye thing for a long time. It doesn't seem to be working very well. Maybe we should try something else.

ghandi :)))))) well, if this is your last resort and you tried everything , then yeah an eye for an eye and he who started will pay the price . it makes sense .

however, this should be your last tool , because when at war and you lose a lot at the price of war... you do not have anything to cry over .. and you are fearless , free to even kill yourself

if you have nothing to give an eye for.. then no, you will not be blind. Thus... we will "all" not be blind.

Good thing we dont have to judge that, God takes care of his chosen ones and usually the ones that do wrong have to deal with the consequenses of thier actions.
