Do blacks and whites in the US have a different murder rate?

According to FBI statistics, blacks have a higher murder rate than whites. My friend argues this is purely an artifact (of bias in reporting, etc) and that blacks and whites have the same murder rate.
Who is correct?

That is so true. We have had over 45 murders in the city of Buffalo, New york since January 1, 2006. The majority has been Black on Black violence. Where the hell are the guns coming from. The government will never allow Blacks to transport anything (guns, drugs, illegal aliens) so how in the world are these (guns & drugs ) being brought into the inner cities and sold for very little. The logical answer would be the White man. He can often slip under the radar when it comes to promoting racial genecide. Give the blacks guns and we don't have to kill them, they will kill themselves. Sad but true. They fight over territory (street coners to sell their drugs), they fight for power and respect in the streets, and most represent a gang family. I should know, I live in an area that has at least seven different gangs crossings in every direction. The plan is working well to get rid of the Black race. Like someone said, if you don't want Blacks to know about it put it in a book. Meaning some Blacks won't even try and pick up a book to better themselve or increase their knowledge. Well I've said enough so I'll let you go with this, I am a minority and I have raised three children by myself and they are all doing positve things with their lives. Not all minority children come from loving families and find a family the best way they know how, and that's in the streets. PEACE!

I would have to agree with your friend
As far as I've ever heard the rates are about the same for either race.
It's competitive pricing that than pits one race's rates against the other.
Advertiser's are quick to take advantage and simply manipulate the normal going prices in the hope consumers, in the heat of a moment, won't bother taking time to compare rates.
As with all things competitive, always get more than one price before choosing.
After all, murder is a heavy, lifelong burden and should be considered very seriously before entering into at any rate.
Thinking a very long time before making foolish commitments is highly recommended.

Most and likely the FBI is correct if they are the ones on the scene. They are the investigators. I have no problem believing that blacks are trouble makers because they are common for murder and robbery all over the news.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a racist but I see what I see. Even the president said himself that the STD's are even more common in blacks than whites.

200 million whites with 2,000 murders = 0.00001 %

50 million blacks with 1,000 murders = 0.00002 %

i think that no race/group has the same murder rate, this is not based on any facts, just an idea.

more blacks commit and are killed by murders each year than whites... so therefore they have a higher murder rate. you are correct.
