most music that you get from limewire will already be mp3.
Ripping music is getting the music to mp3 from cd.
If the music from limewire isn't mp3, you need a program to convert it. Try dbPoweramp. Or google for mp3 converter.
If you're trying to put the music on an mp3 player, the software will often have this function. if you download wma (windows media audio) and want to put it on an iPod, you'll need other software than itunes.
windows media player will rip from cd but i don't think that it will convert mp3s. to rip music from cd with windows media player:
1. open windows media player and at the top toolbar click tools then options.
2. go to the section rip music
3. in rip settings set the format to mp3
4. Choose you're quality - own preference
5. click apply and close the options menu
6. insert your cd and go to th section that says Rip
7. check that the boxes are ticked and click Rip Music (top right)
It will now rip your song as an mp3
as i said, most songs from limewire already are mp3
Windows media player wont convert music formats

If it's audio, just search it in limewire after the download plug in your mp3 and go to the folder where all the download has been saved and open it (not in limewire) and old down your CTRL key on your keyboard and select all the music you want to put in your mp3.after that, right click your mouse and select "send to" and select the "(F:) Removable Drive" or what ever your mp3 drive is called.all of them will be transfered to your mp3.Or open the mp3 music folder and drag all the music you want into it.
That is if your are using windows xp.
in windows media player...Insert your Audio CD and click rip, after the rip open your "my document" and double click your "my music" from there you can see the folder of the music you've just ripped.and also use the above system to transfered it to your pm3.
My mp3 came with it's own transfer program, but i don't use it when transfering audio files.
All this might not work if your mp3 is the very old model.
Good Luck

window media player can rip to MP3 ... to do this you need to go to your options>>>rip music>>> format>>>MP3...you can rip to mp3 but window media player can not convert wma into mp3.
to convert your going to need an audio converter...which you can get off the internet for free... some programs take a while to do this...it's much easier just to get the songs in MP3 from limewire

i just got mine, but my sister did it for me--i hung over her shoulder and watched.
it might b different, because she ripped and burned the music from my CDs (you just put the CD in your PC and click on the songs you want, then click on rip, then put your PC plug into your mp3 player and PC outlet, click "burn" and you're set).
....i probably didn't help :[
