On Thursday I bought myself a desktop PC from the PC World website. When I bought it, I was quickly told that my order was in processing, and I would get an email confirming that it's been sent.

It's now Monday, and i still haven't recieved any confirmation that my PC has been dispatched, or any updates on my order for that matter. Is this just their normal process, and should I expect an update in the next few days.

And how will it be before they dispatch my order?

It may take a long time, this is what they have to do:

1)Build your PC.
2)Send your PC to the central PC Galaxy quality control building on Ultron.
3)Receive the PC, but find that some green bastard has nicked the processor. They make a mental note never to use Royal intergalactic mail again.
4)Rebuild the PC and send it through FedEx.
5) Two months later, and after many phone calls, they discover that the Hastromil space police destroyed the PC parcel because it was suspected of being an illegal immigrant from Krikit.
6) They give up trying to send you the PC, pocket the cash, delete any record of your order, and you never hear anything from them again.
7) Many, Many years later an accountant called in to try and save the company from bankruptcy finds a record of your order.
8) One year later your great-great-grandson who is living on mars receives a slightly scorched letter informing him that PC Galaxy is very sorry for the delay and the PC will be arriving shortly. This is not good news as your g-g-grandson has a speck of dust with more intellectual prowess than the PC you ordered three centuries previously.

In short, you may have to wait a very long time for your PC if they have dispatched it through any prominent delivery firm.

PC world is a lot different in reality than it is on TV. You should have picked it up there and then. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.
