I live in Tennessee, and its been a hot summer, hot and humid (just like always) but back in 1989 I remember a heat wave in June that topped 110 F every day for a week.

Warmest day I remember, the place and the time.
I was in Lordsburg New Mexico. I pulled into a gas station on my way back east. I had just replaced a 74' Dodge Club Cab engine with a 318, with its original 360 heads and intake. I pulled in and my dipstick had been shaken out somewhere down the road. With all the driving the oil had managed to coat the underside of the truck and the engine. Unfortunately it drowned out the starter, and I could get the truck started anymore. I managed to push the thing to the side of the station, but I needed a new starter. A stranger stopped and asked me if I needed help. I told him what I needed and he drove me about 5 blocks to the only auto parts store in town. I bought a starter for, they had to have seen me coming, 150 bucks, with the core deposit. The guy took me back across town. I got out onto the concrete and swapped the starter out. The guy he disappeared back into Lordsburg. Two hundred miles later I realized I had left my Oakleys in his car. Not a bad tip for him. Least I never stop in Lordsburg New Mexico since.

Athens Greece 42oC yes it's a hot evening but the hottest days are in 1980 48oC during the day and 45oC during the night.

We finally got some rain here in Texas. Thank you God. It has been about 110 degrees here so far.
