Ukraine is not Europe - Yet, but...

MFA: EU did not deprive Ukraine of the EU membership

Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was surprised by Mass Media reports, which said that President of European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso had declared the EU couldn’t propose Ukraine the EU membership.
According to MFA data, Barroso unambiguously stated that “Ukraine is a member of European family and has European future. The European Union is faithful to the idea of helping Ukraine and Ukrainian people.” Exactly these words are the key ones in his statement, and the Ukrainian party shares the assurance of the President of European Commission in Ukraine’s European future.

As for his statement that the European Union can not propose new prospective membership for other countries for the moment, as they need unanimity of all country-members, Ukraine treats it as demonstration of actual internal political situation in the EU, which does not exclude Ukraine’s EU membership in the future, in accordance with regulations documents of the Union.

MFA comment states that Ukraine is convinced that its success in realization of European reforms, as well as the EU’s progress in settlement of inner problems, will lead to political consensus over Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.

No it is not... and wont be anytime soon!

in order to be part of the EU countries must abide by certain rules and regulations and must meet certain economic criteria... Ukraine is far far far FAR away from this... to the point where its not feasable in the near future.

I think citizens of Ukraine think of themselfs more as russians than europeans anyways

For a rustic to develop right into a member of ecu, it has to bypass a number of ranges. Turkey is familiar in a particular degree of the "least expensive" one, yet not yet each and every little thing. What it oftentimes ability to be a component of the ecu is to have the passport that asserts ecu, and be loose to bypass without inmigration tactics. Turkey is a touch far for having this good yet. the major reason proclaimed extraordinarily from french people is faith: they are muslums. yet after I heard that Turkey is the "backdoor of China", so China's products might want to be bought a lot a lot less puzzling if Turkey turns right into a classic member of ecu. And, only for the record, not each and absolutely everyone accepts thoroughly the time period "EUROPE". what's Europe?. did you recognize Spain became not seen Europe as a lot because the XVII century? Or that many French people earlier starting to be a member of the ecu did not favor to develop into area of "Europe" because of excellent nationalism? Or that British people do not favor to be talked about as Europeans, even nowaday. Or that a number of the international places of the Ex-Soviet Union at the prompt are being area of Europe. And, geographically, there is not actual branch of what Europe is or ability. in case you spot the map, "Europe" is prolonged as a lot as Japan!!!: there is just one huge continent!! So, thus far a lot of people relate the theory "Europe" as a time period appropriate with "progression".
