Does anyone know why people ask silly questions on here, the answers to which can be easily found on the internet? E.g. How much does a A202 Camera cost?

It sometimes cuts through the junk out there on the Internet.

When you ask questions you are often receiving answers based on personal experience. Someone who purchased said camera will tell you how much they paid. They may even recommend a current sale price or website where the item has a special low price.

Researching on your own is smart, but asking questions of others is also recommended.

As an example, I was thinking of asking for recipes using blueberries as the main ingredient. I could easily find dozens and dozens of recipes online, but that doesn't help me choose. By posing the question, I may receive answers from those who have made several baked goods with blueberries that can recommend their favourite.

That saves me the trouble of trying a recipe for the first time that's really not very good.

Laziness factor, I think. That, and many people don't realize that the purpose for this little corner of the Internet is intended to be discussion of topics of opinion or difficult to research subjects.

Also, the Internet is like a giant Transformer made up of millions of teenagers. heh

Mayby they just don't want to find the information on the net and there is nothign like getting someones opinion on a pricey item as most of the time they tell you where you may be able to get it cheaper and any problems they have had stuff like that!

A lot of people are asking questions not because they don't know the answer but because they like the personal attention. Also, it takes less effort than searching for a site that may/may not give you the answer.

Great question!
