Gas? I pay $3.23 a gallon now just for unleaded. I love driving as it helps to clear my mind as well as getting me from point A to point B. It would have to go up to $10 a gallon for me to make adjustments in my driving habits. $15 a gallon to make me consider quitting.
Cigz I already quit. They are anywhere from $4.25-$5 a pack here in Hawai'i. Every year they raise the tax on them in order to phase them out. Our own government pushed them on us (the American public) during WWII to alleviate stress and anxiety. They came in especially handy during prohibition I understand. They should be giving us free medical for any problems that arise from smoking tobacco products!
Liquor taxes are also steadily rising each year too. We're already paying $13-15 a cold pack here for Heineken. Fricken ridiculous! We do have the highest COLA in the country though.
Our own government is making it hard for us to get off on tobacco and liquor. No wonder drugs are being abused so widely throughout the many different age and financial demographics in our country.
While we're on the subject. Did you know that Brazil has the cheapest and most abundant source of ethanol on this planet thus far? We can't import it though as the US has imposed a 100% tarif on all products imported from Brazil. ******' bullsh*t politics! It doesn't serve the common man and woman so much as it does the politicians who propose and pass the laws.
There are other things to discuss, but not enough time and space to do so properly here.

Gas is around $3 a gallon here too, and I have already changed my habits somewhat- like I will role down the windows instead of running the A/C unless it's so hot I can't stand it, and I'm a lot more conscious about combining trips. Cigarettes are $3-something too, but I haven't made any changes there :) It would take at least $5 a pack to cause me to start slowing down or thinkin about quitting. That's pretty sad, huh lol

Gas- I also pay somewhere around $3 a gallon. I would probably continue to pay for gas, no matter how high it got if I had places to go and people to see. Right now, taking a bus to work is not convenient, but I would eventually if I had to. It would all depend on my situation at the time.
Cigarettes- I don't smoke, and I never will!

I am changing my lifestyle at $3 a gallon now. Driving less, and looking into buying a hybrid. I do not have the opportunity to do without a vehicle all together, but find it very important to look into eliminatng our dependence on gas powered vehicles all together.

Gas I have no clue about. I need to work and it is hard to comeup with alternatives with you are crunched with time already. I do the extremely cheap smokes here.$3.50 a pack. Marlboro's are $5.02 here but for Winston's and that are $ 5.87 and people will pay that. I have to contain myself not to shriek at those prices.

Gas probably about $6/gallon but when its at $5/gallon I would probably say $8/gallon. Its all relative, when gas was $.85/gallon if you asked me the same question I would have said $1.50 or so.

I would pay up to $5/gal for gasoline.
I live in New York City - which in a attempt to cut down the smoking in the city, they raised the tabacco tax, so the cheapest cigarettes in the city are $6.75 going up to $8.00

Gas is $3.08, cigarettes are $4.64, I don't know how high I would go for either, but smokes would have to go first. I live in a pretty rual area, so I can't get by without gas.

i pay about 3 now, and i dont think that i would be able to change my lifestyle anytime soon. I commute to school ( about 45 mins) and my classes are at different times each day, plus i have to drive straight to work from class. it would be hard to not have my own car. Good thing i have a Honda Accord. lol

Gas here is 2.67 I would pay whatever the cost cause I have to go to work.
Cigaretts here are 2.47 and again I would pay whatever cause I just like to smoke and money really is not an issue.
