My friend has to keep his cell phone in his lunch bag, which has to be put in the refrigerator (long story) and I want to know if this will have a negative affect. It does not encounter moisture.

No, that really isn't cold enough to do any damage. If it encountered absolutely no moisture then you should be fine. If it was as low as the freezer, then yeah I would say that you may have a problem. Not with the phone necessarily, but with the battery.

Yes it could have an affect on the cell phone. Not neccessarily the cold but the quick transition from cold to room-temp may affect some of the chips.

Yes in the same way extreme heat can affect a cell phone (like if you leave it in a car on a hot day with the windows up)

I don't know the details, but when i went skiing once, my cell phone battery ran out 2 times quicker than normal. I think it's a dumb idea to keep it in a lunchbag.

Cold temperatures slow down speed of molecules...so at extreme cold temps... the cell phone will not work.

No. If it were really cold, like at the South Pole, I would check with the manufacturer, but refrigerator temps won't bother them.

Last winter.. I was so drunk.. My cell phone fell of the snow..

I just remember in the morning that I dropped my phone.. When I went outside.. saw my phone laying on the snow..

Checked it out! It was working fine..

WOW!!

If it cools down it will attract water from the air. This along with the electricity may corrode stuff.

It can happen but does not have to.
