I suggest this intro:

Banning genetically modified food would be another case of ignorance and fear replacing science and sense. Banning irrigation of crops would be a good next step because, dang it, irrigation ain't natural either.

The human food supply has been undergoing genetic engineering for thousands of years. None of the grains, fruits, or vegetables we eat are "natural". It was unnatural selection, with farmers picking seeds from the plants that served humans best, that began the genetic engineering of our food supply. After the scientist Gregor Mendel helped begin the incite into how genetics operated, farmers and scientist were able to systematically breed and select and develop hybrids to better meet our needs.

That is why our corn is so big and juicy, our apple supply so varied and tasty.

Don't stop just with banning future genetic engineering. Ban all products of past human tinkering with food crops until we have achieved an agriculture capable of supporting only a fraction of the earth's current human population. Go. Ban.

If all genetically modified food were banned we
would probably all starve to death, or nearly. Almost all the crops and domestic animals we
have have been genetically modified. Corn, in
fact, was created by human beings. It doesn't
grow wild and never did, though a related plant
does, but it is very different from corn.

I assume your question actually refers to the kind
of laboratory genetic modification done by moving
genes from one species to another. Plant breeding by hybridization also moves genes from
one species to another. Doing it in the laboratory
is faster and more effective. There is very little
reason to be opposed to this process.

Who is your audience? knowledgable, vested interest?

Will your audience understand the difference between selective breeding and trans-genic manipulation; the variations in natural populations vs identical GM crop =suseptability to pest & disease; the difference between local saved land race and patented seed?

are you talking about just the food, or the environmantal, social and economic effects of producing GM crops? what is your audience concerned about? Is your community directly affected eg will your local farmer sell out because she can't compete with large agro-business, are there issues of food security, healthy eating...?

The end product, food on the plate, is probably much the same as any other global agro-business product - grown for ease of mechanised handling, long distance transport, uniform apperance; taste and nutrient levels are of no concern.

compare to local low input fresh produced sustainably.

When starting a permaculture introduction I usually ask people to list the food they have eaten today - then ask them to list where it came from, can they go back further than a supermarket?

are you talking about geneticaly modified micro-organisms, plants or animals that end up in food? or ones used in producing the food?
Most GM crops are not for human consumption, but animal feed, and animals concentrate any agro-chemicals in their fat, including milk. and most GM crops are designed to maximise sales of agro-chemicals

there is not any rationalization for banning the Bible for the reason you stated. The Bible would not communicate of homosexuality only that it somewhat is an abomination to God, yet each sin does this. in case you "hate" homosexuals than you're no longer in basic terms. they have their sin on the same time as all individuals something have their very own. including your reasoning you may hate each physique and commit crime. this isn't any longer the main remarkable way of questioning. whilst Jesus became into provided with the whore to choose her previously stoning her,He instructed them that whoever who have not sinned throw the 1st stone. And all of them went away, commencing from the previous ones. To God all sins are equivalent. Do you think of of your self as specific because of the fact you're no longer gay? you mustn't. Neither God make any difference from homosexuals to all different sinners.

Take a genetically modified food and list the ingredients, one by one. Then tell everyone what the food is and how often we eat said food.

Good attention getter.
