They are only effect about 97% of the time, I believe, but they are certainly better than nothing.

Condoms are very safe they protect you from pregnancy and many different types of std's. My grandma always told me it is better to be safe rather than sorry. You need to make sure the person using the condom reads the packet inside the box, because if they have never used them before than they may not understand that if you do not pinch the tip the condom is most likely to bust at that point you can get pregnant or a std. No sex is your choice and no one should be able to make that decision for you. If you are allergic to to latex that could cause you to have a allergic reaction But you do have alliterates they now make latex free condoms. Always use condoms for safe sex and yes this includes oral sex That is way they make flavored condoms. Good luck and Happy condom choosing

How safe condoms are depends partly on whether they are worn properly. If the man doesn't follow the directions and leave a space at the end for the liquids, then they are more likely to break. A broken condom is not safe for preventing pregnancy or STD.

The statistics are that they are 97% effective in preventing pregnancy if worn correctly. Many people don't use them correctly though.

As for STDs, it's probably about the same rate unless you factor in diseases that spread by skin contact and condoms don't necessarily cover every part that could possibly be contagious.

So, yes, they're safe. Safer than not using them, that's for sure. But they are not a guarentee (just like any other method of protection).

Nothing is 100% effective at avoiding pregnancy except for not having sex. If you dont want babies dont make them.

Condoms are safe for those who use them well, buy a good brand, and use a well fitted size. (theres only two, but a lot of guys tend to think theyre magnums.)

But they do break, slip off, or jsut not get used properly, which results in pregnancy. If you must have sex even though you dont want babies, use a good condom with a spermicidal lube, and back it up with a spermicide foam for your girl.

Then you both will have that much less to worry about.

They are not 100% safe. I know many people who got pregnant while using a condom and I have had them break many times while I was having sex with someone. Nothing is 100% unless you don't have sex. Also they will not protect you from STD's.

Condoms are not truly safe UNLESS you are both free of disease and have recently been tested, and you are prepared for a pregnancy on the off chance it occurs.

For what?

Condoms break, so they aren't 100% for preventing pregnancy. People can break a tiny hole in them to trick another.
I remember hearing in school that latex has natural holes in it that are bigger than many STDs and HIV. The diseases can fit right through those holes.

On the other hand, condoms can be deadly if a person is allergic to latex.

yes they are safe.
but are you wondering if they work?
yes stop pregnancy most of the time if used correctly.
stop stds that are passed by fluids most of the time if used correctly and prevent skin to skin contact stds in the bits they cover !
but nothing is ever 100% just need to be careful and use them properly.

condoms are quiet safe but not 100% affective in avoiding pregnancy, are supposed to be very good with s.t.i's though.
