How many have been in one, and for those who have, your opinions and the long term effect on your primary relationship?

I am currently in an open relationship with girlfriend of 6 years. We both have been with others but only when the other knows about it. When we do go off with others it's always with the same guy or girl, so we're not just sleeping around with whoever we find. We both thinks it's hot to know when the other is having sex with someone else and have even had same room sex (swinging) with the other male and female, which are a couple. We have had no ploblems in the past regarding this, if anything, it got better.

Open relationships work as long as there is honesty and communication between the partners. Most of the "open" relationships that I have seen fail, were because the relationship was opened in an effort to try to save a failed relationship.

I'm quite sure that my partner would not want to share me but hey everyone to their own. I have known of someone however who had an open relationship and they now are no longer with their original partner. Can you guess who they are with?
