Have you every tried doing penny rugs? Although I haven't done them I did get a cute pattern for one. I think they are very interesting. Here's another idea: if you have an embroidery machine you can embroider on felt. I made Bible covers for the Seniors in my church this way. They came out very nice. It seems now though that the new "rage" is felting, which is shredded wool that is punched into a design. Too tedious for me, but the results are very nice.

Make Christmas stockings (if you celebrate Christmas). My daughter and I did this a couple of years ago and they turned out really nice. Now we have family members asking us to make them for their families. We made the stockings in green and then put silver trim on them and cut out stars & so forth with different colored felt and glued them on.
If you have photos you would like to put in a great package you might want to try scrapbooking and glue felt to the pages.
You can also use felt to put on the bottom of items that you set on your coffee or end table to prevent the wood from being scratched.
