no. The speedometer just measures how fast you are going. It is a cable that hooks up.. The only thing that will be affected is your driving record as you will not be able to judge speed and will likely get speeding tickets.

If you are asking about gas mileage then the broken speedometer will not affect that. However if you are asking about mileage reading for the car, then probably because a broken speedometer will usually, but not always, stop recording the miles the car has traveled.

YES. if the speedometer isnt working, the odometer isnt working either. You need to get that fixed, it is a national law that all vehicles have a working speedometer so that vehicle mileage be accurate as possible in case it comes time when you want to trade in your vehicle for another or sell it outright. You can be given a citation for your speedometer not working.

Probably. If there is a cable that kinda connects the transmission to the speedometer, then the odometer won't work either. If your car has some newer fancier technology (which I don't know even exists, cause I haven't repaired a car in 30 years) then possibly not.

depends upon what broke... I've seen odometers not work but spedo work fine, so I figure the opposite can be true...

But usually what ever fails causes both to go out..sorry

That depends, if it's a problem with the drive for the speedo or if it's the speedo itself. If it's the speedo then your odometer should still work.
